1. Baking Soda & Vinegar

Into your drain, pour:

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ½ cup vinegar

Plug your drain and allow the mixture to sit for one hour. Finish by pouring a pot of boiling water into your drain.

2. Baking Soda & Salt

Mix the following ingredients together:

  • ½ cup salt
  • ½ cup baking soda

Pour this mixture down the drain. Allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes (or longer for a tough clog). Finally, pour one pot of boiling water down the drain to rinse the mixture down.

3. Baking Soda, Salt & Cream of Tartar

Into a jar or container that seals, add:

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ½ cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar

Close the jar and shake it to combine the ingredients. Next, pour half of the jar’s contents down the drain (you can save the other half for later!). Then, pour a pot of boiling water in the drain after the mixture. Allow that to sit for about an hour, and then run tap water to rinse any remaining solution down the drain.

4. Baking Soda & Lemon Juice

Into your drain, pour:

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ½ cup lemon juice

Plug your drain and allow the mixture to sit for one hour. Finish by pouring a pot of boiling water into your drain.

5. Salt, Borax & Vinegar

Into your drain, pour (in the following order):

  • ¼ cup salt
  • ¼ cup Borax
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • 1 pot of boiling water

Then, let sit for about an hour or until the water drains from the sink/tub. Finally, run hot water to rinse any remaining solution down the drain.
